Why everyone can tell you’re using chatgpt (and how to fix it)

Okay, I know… It’s 2025, everyone is using ChatGPT for EVERYTHING! And although it can be resourceful, I’m gonna tell you why you shouldn’t rely on it and why people can tell you are just copying and pasting what it responds.

Grammar & Emojis

ChatGPT researches the internet to provide you answers, and it will give you a response with perfect grammar and punctuation. Nobody is using all those commas and hyphens IRL. So, yeah. We can tell you didn’t write it. AI also uses a lot of emojis, especially if you are asking for lists, plans, and captions. Again, no one uses that many of those.

Wording

Unless you have an account on the site, ChatGPT will not be consistent with your brand language. This means that if you ask it for ideas you are looking to copy and paste, it will be evident that the language used is different from your previous posts.

Images

Oh jeez… images. AI has still not quite figured out how to recreate fingers or put the correct wording on the flyers you are trying to generate, AND IT SHOWS! I often see so many graphics that are misspelled or have fake images- it is not appealing. It also seems like ChatGPT has a certain theme for most of their generated images that make them very easy to spot as AI generated.

So… how do we fix it?

First, stop copying and pasting. ChatGPT can guide you to the resources you need to form your own content. Even if you are planning to repeat its response, give it your own twist and make sure it fits your brand’s language. Delete those emojis ASAP and put that brain to work to show your audience that you are being genuine.

When it comes to graphics, I would not rely on AI at all. There are too many things that can go wrong. Instead, use free services like Canva or Adobe Express!

And if you don’t really know how to execute your ideas on those… you know who to call! 😉😉😉
